INTERNSHIP AND DEGREE INTEGRATION:

The Internship in Digital Media and Communications for Non-Profit organizations provides students with the opportunity to develop skills in the workplace. It is intended to be a practical job placement under the supervision of a mentor.   Students will participate in workplace culture to gain hands-on experience, to start a network of contacts with others in their field of interest, and to connect theory with practise. Internships may be paid or unpaid but all students will benefit from participation under the direction of a mentor.

Volunteer Internship: (Choose One):

  1. Video Design & Production
  2. Web Development
  3. Graphic Design

Student requirements:

  • 27 credits completed: 2 COMM, 1 SOC, 1 ENG, 1 CPSC, 1 RELG, and three electives;
  • E –portfolio to demonstrate competency in one of the three fields of interest.

Internships are awarded to students who have shown satisfactory progress in their studies and who display reasonable capacity to complete the internship in an appropriate amount of time.

Prospective internship candidates will agree to serve in the internship organization, submit to all terms of employment, to work under the direction of the approved mentor; and to complete all assignments that are part of the academic component of the programme.
